Water

Mill Creek, wells and a new plant

Marysville draws on Mill Creek and city wells. Since 2009 it has stored creek water in an upground reservoir on Raymond Road that holds 1.39 billion gallons, filled by a pump station on Mill Creek that was built along with an inflatable dam. The city opened its new water treatment plant at 18000 Raymond Road in January 2023. It treats about 3.6 million gallons a day, softening with lime and soda ash, then using ozone and filtration.

Softened water is easier on a water heater, but sediment still settles in the tank over the years, so a heater that rumbles is worth a flush. In 2025 the city added a seventh filter at the plant and bought land for a future treatment plant.

Lead

Sampling and the service line inventory

In the city's 2025 lead sampling, 1 of 60 homes was over the action level, and 90% of results were below 0.8 ppb. Marysville keeps a public inventory of service line materials for every property. For questions about the inventory, call the city at 937-645-7332.

Homes

Newer homes on Columbia Gas

The median Marysville home was built in 1999. About 77% of homes heat with gas and 21% with electricity, and the city's new resident guide lists Columbia Gas as the gas company. A tank installed when a 2000s home was built is now at the age when many heaters start to leak, while newer ones may still be under warranty.

Republic Services collects Marysville's trash under a city contract. Bulk items go out on your regular trash day, in piles no larger than 10 feet long, 4 feet wide and 4 feet high.
