The city's residents guide lists Aqua Ohio as Mentor's water company. Aqua's 2025 report for its Mentor system says the water comes from Lake Erie through an offshore intake and is disinfected with chlorine. The report doesn't list a hardness figure.

Aqua says the system has no lead, galvanized-requiring-replacement or unknown service lines, and no lead was detected in its latest round of 30 home samples. All four PFAS sampling events were non-detect. The report also carries a notice that Aqua missed some corrosion control sampling in early 2025; it says customers don't need to take any action.
